Role
1 x Manchester, 1 x Edinburgh, 1 x Sheffield
The candidate will support our Manchester/Edinburgh/Sheffield team in project delivery from concept to design implementation. To succeed in this role, the candidate must have aesthetic sensitivity and a passion for conceptual design. With an appreciation and aptitude for architectural lighting design the successful candidate will also have a technical appreciation for electrical requirements associated with lighting, as well as a keen desire to understand and develop their knowledge of different lighting control system topologies.

The candidate will be involved in the following activities:

Producing design concepts, lighting designs, sketches, graphical output drawings, specifications, artwork designs, proposals, design reports, lighting calculations, and technical lighting control schematics.
Attending meetings with clients and collaborators.
Producing specifications and technical reports, environmental impact assessments and co-ordinating the work of others.
Communicating with clients to establish their needs, and maintaining a dialogue throughout the project.
Supervising and co-ordinating the work of other junior team members and co-ordinating work with building professionals of other disciplines.


Requirements and skills

The candidate will possess the following requirements:
Degree in lighting design, electrical engineering, architecture or related relevant discipline, working towards professional qualification(s) in Lighting;
Experience in the successful delivery of lighting projects, a fundamental appreciation of lighting consultancy as a technical service;
Lighting design experience in the lighting industry is essential;
An understanding of daylight design and analysis techniques is desirable;
Excellent communication and report writing skills;
Good at planning and organising.
