Consultant Opportunities in Health and Social Care across the UK and Ireland - Based in Manchester.

Job Requirements

We are looking for Consultants and Principal Consultants with a track record of implementing change and driving improvement in health and social care settings, particularly in relation to:
• Implementing different approaches to commissioning for health and social care – including greater personalisation of commissioning for patients and carers; and commissioning innovations driven by the Five Year Forward View
• Changing operational design at provider organisations – addressing issues around quality, efficiency and performance
• Designing and implementing future care models – developing new pathways and operating models to address challenges such as clinical quality concerns, major financial shortfalls, and workforce shortages.

Skills and knowledge
Some of the requirements we are particularly looking for include supervising small teams of two or three consultants. Furthermore:
• Possesses core consulting skills which are transferrable to other market units as and when necessary e.g. programme management, financial analysis, telecare, modelling, IT, process improvement (clinical pathway design). Finance, IT and process improvement are the highest priority. Such skills don’t need to have been gained in a consulting environment
• Technically accomplished, creative and insightful within their field of expertise
• Has strong written communication skills with the ability to write documents which are compelling, engaging and unambiguous
• Strong verbal communicator who is able to deliver high impact presentations of complex solutions and concepts
• Demonstrates competent problem-solving ability in relation to technically complex or conceptually abstract ideas.
• Creates and maintains an influential and effective client network by nurturing key relationships within Health. Understands the client environment and is able to build peer to peer relationships with key client and PA stakeholders
• Understanding of key financial and accounting metrics (profit margin, cash flow etc) and is able to interpret key company communications such as financial statements

Experience
This is likely to include:
• Work experience in UK health and/ or social care (hospitals, regulators, community, social, mental health or primary care, in particular we are keen to see applicants from a Provider/ Commissioning background)
• Broad understanding of the language, culture, trends and topics in health and social care
• Degree level education.
